Knowledge Transfer Partnerships - AMAP
AMAP and the University of Sunderland has a proven, successful track record in supporting and offering Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP). KTPs are one of the Innovate UK's business support solutions that enable knowledge and technology transfer between academia and industry.
KTPs can range from one to three years during which the academic institution will assist an industrial partner to create strategic and profitable change within their company via a high flying graduate/associate to focus on a specific research challenge.
The funding from the government grant and the company partner covers the cost of the university’s participation in the programme. The scheme is open to all companies. Typically SMEs can obtain a grant that will fund up to 67% of the costs of a development project. Large companies received 50% grant funding. Funding is costed on a case-by-case basis.
