Overview of the 2010 SU Racing car
SU Racing's seventh car was designed to incorporate the lessons learnt when working on the 2009 car. Our aim was to keep the innovative features of the past cars, and deal with the issues that had brought great disappointment to the team at last year's event.
Our key areas to improve were:
- reducing size and weight
- increasing the overall power
- improving the handling capabilities.
For many years, the team has experimented with many innovative ways of improving performance and reducing weight. Although we would have liked to continue developing many of these ideas, we decided that some ideas were weak links in the car's reliability. We put these on the back burner, and moved use amore reliable designs that were easier to design, build and maintain so the reliability of the car will be greatly improved. We would continue to work on our other ideas in the aim of incorporating them into future cars.
