It is our pleasure to invite you to MPMM 2012 - Maintenance, Performance, Measurement and Management.
This will be the second international conference and follows on from the very successful first edition held in Luleå, Sweden in 2011.
The conference this year will be organised and hosted by the University of Sunderland in North East England. Sunderland is a city by the sea in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. The North East of England has one of the most beautiful and varied landscapes in the UK, with striking coastlines, ancient forests and rolling hills. Driving the modern dynamism of the North East are three large cosmopolitan cities: Sunderland, Newcastle upon Tyne and Durham. The region also has a rich culture and heritage, with 65 museums and art galleries, and the world-famous heritage sites Hadrian's Wall, Lindisfarne on Holy Island, and Durham Cathedral.
MPMM 2012 will provide an excellent opportunity for engineers from all areas of academia and industry to present and discuss the latest practices and technologies for managing and monitoring the performance of maintenance strategies.
The conference will focus on the following multidisciplinary fields:
- How to quantify the maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
- How to quantify the life cycle cost for operation and maintenance performance.
- How to identify engineering asset performance problems before their occurrence.
- How to collect performance measurement data.
- How to learn from 'the best practice' from industry and benchmark them.
- How to re-engineer maintenance processes to increase performance quality, productivity and profitability.
Papers presented at the conference will be published in the conference proceedings and selected papers will be published in a special issue of International Journal of Strategic Engineering Asset Management.
